About

This website was built on March 16, 2020 and is maintained by Dean Paxton. It is given data, news, and useful information by many more contributors.

We created this site because we could not find, early in the pandemic, relevant information and data about the 2019-2020 Coronavirus (Covid-19) (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic. We wanted to have a dashboard that gave users an instant snapshot of the situation. we hope this is a helpful resource.

We’ve tried to put together data views that represent factual information and not lead viewers into a conclusion of my design. Most of the data is from Johns Hopkins University. Some of the demographic data is from the World Health Organization (WHO) and from Wikipedia. we’re trying very hard to avoid data that might not be empirical, or might be considered sensational in nature.

You might notice that the data format, type, and visualization changes from time to time as we experiment with methods to represent a very, very volatile data set.

Soon, we’ll add resources, and shift the focus from data collection into trying to communicate useful information.

The “News” section, however is not unbiased. We will not be reporting information that is designed to be “agnostic,” or measured, or even objective in any way, we promise.

If you have questions, suggestions, or would like to make comment, please use the “Contact” page. Also, please see the “Privacy Policy” page for details about what information we collect, and how we use it.

Finally, this site was built with WordPress on top of a heavily modified WordPress default 2022 full site editing theme.
